About Grasscloth & Natural Fiber Wallpaper
Grasscloth and natural fiber wallpapers are woven by hand or loom from plant fibres – sisal, abaca, raffia, hemp and paper yarn – and laminated onto a paper backing. The natural slubs and colour variation give walls a warm, tactile texture that printed wallpaper cannot match, which is why they are a staple of hotel, restaurant and residential interiors.
Typical applications
- Hotel rooms, corridors and lobbies
- Restaurants, cafés and lounges
- Living rooms, bedrooms and studies
- Cabinet doors and wardrobe panels
- Boutique retail and showrooms
Grasscloth & Natural Fiber Wallpaper – frequently asked questions
How is natural wallcovering sold?
Most of our natural wallcoverings are supplied by the linear metre on rolls of the stated width, so you order exactly the quantity your walls need. Allow extra for pattern matching and cutting.
How is it installed?
Natural and textile wallcoverings are hung on a smooth, primed wall with a clear, heavy-duty wallcovering adhesive, panel by panel. They can also be wrapped onto boards to make upholstered wall panels. Use an installer experienced with natural wallcoverings.
Will colours vary between rolls?
Natural fibres, cork and veneer vary in shade and texture – that is part of their character. Order a whole area from one production batch and check the sample before bulk production.
Are fire-rated or custom colours available?
Many items can be produced in custom colours, and treated or fire-rated versions can be made for commercial projects. Tell us your colour reference and the fire standard you need.
Can I get samples and mix items in one order?
Yes. Swatches are available before you order, and wallcoverings can be shipped together with our other decorative materials in one mixed container.
Send us your drawings, wall sizes or reference images for a quotation and samples.
