The face of this product is a genuine natural stone layer split from rock, only about 2 mm thick and bonded to a flexible, light-transmitting backing. Because it is so thin, the stone lets light through and can bend around columns and curved surfaces, while the surface you see and touch is real stone with natural veins, grain and colour. About Translucent Stone Veneer & Backlit Lighting
Our translucent stone veneer is genuine natural stone, not resin: a real stone layer only about 2 mm thick, split from natural rock and bonded to a flexible, light-transmitting backing. Being so thin, it is bendable and lets light pass through. Lit from behind, the veins and colours of the rock glow, so a wall, ceiling, counter or lamp becomes a feature in its own right. Because each sheet comes from natural stone, pattern and colour vary from sheet to sheet – part of its appeal.

Is translucent stone veneer real stone?
Yes. The face layer is natural stone taken from rock, about 2 mm thick, on a light-transmitting backing. Every sheet is unique, so we recommend approving the actual sheets or photos of them before production.
How is it lit?
Install an even LED light source behind the veneer – LED light sheets or evenly spaced strips with a diffuser – leaving enough distance to avoid hot spots. For custom lighting pieces we design the LED build-up for you.
Can it be bent, curved or used on furniture?
Yes. Although the surface is real stone, the 2 mm veneer on its flexible backing can bend around columns and curved walls, and can be applied to flat or curved surfaces, and is used for tabletops, wash basins, wall lights and pendants. Tell us the shape and we will advise on the build-up.
What sizes are available?
Standard sheets are 610 × 1220, 1220 × 2440 and 1220 × 3050 mm. Custom lighting pieces can be made up to about 1200 × 3000 mm per face.
Can I mix this with other products in one shipment?
Yes. Translucent stone can share a mixed container with our other decorative materials. Samples are available before you order.
